For me, day 2 of TOM* Fashion Week was all about the pastels, because lets be real no one has the patience to wait till the spring to bring out their favourite soft tone palettes. My shirt, blazer and shoes are all from the new Ted Baker London SS16 collection. To highlight the windowpane print of my blazer I styled these white linen trousers from Topman to compliment the soft mint green of the blazer while still bringing out the white of the print. With spring just around the corner these pieces were the perfect way to get my wardrobe ready for the warm weather on the horizon.
For the accessories, I paired my baby pink knit tie from Club Monaco with my plain white pocket square to got with the pastel tones prominent in the rest of my look. Finally I finished my look with my favourite bag from Ted Baker to pull the very faint darker touches of my fly fish hook lapel pin.
This collection from Tuck Shop Trading CO definitely made me feel all sorts or pride about being a born and raised Canadian boy. The collection brought together blends of wool and leather to highlight pieces to make your Canadian winter outdoors both warm and stylish. Their trademark that was evident throughout the entire runway presentation was using just the perfect amount of utility and aesthetic to truly showcase what it means to be a Canadian fashion brand.
I absolutely fell in love with the cuffs this Tuck Shop pants. The option to tighten a cuff on your chinos is, a perfect way to show what this Canadian brand is known for and that's making fashion meet function.
After falling in love with this brands SS16 collection back at World MasterCard Fashion week in the fall, I promised myself that if I were to go to any show at TOM* it would be to see Finezza. This collection that made me say "Damn...these clothes make me feel proud to be a gentlemen."
For his FW16 line, designer Ivan Lehec brought forward a autumn colour palette, in combination with modern tailoring and truly bring forward a collection that struck a cord deep within my fashionable heart. The use of texture and old school flare sets Finezza apart from any other collection to hit the runway this past week. That is because the line brings men back to what men's fashion is really about; flawless craftsmanship and dapper of elegance.
I had the biggest fan moment while having the privilege to meet the creative mind behind Finezza, Ivan Lehec.
Because it wouldn't be TOM* without Toronto's very own Fashion Santa - Paul Mason.
Fashion Santa along with city counsellor Norm Kelly and a slew of Canada's finest gentlemen, teamed up with TOM* and GotStyle for yet another season to present Men's Fashion4Hope. This unique show that has now been written in TOM* tradition, brought forward some of Canada's most influential gents to showcase mens fashion, raise money for SickKids and show first hand that men's fashion truly does have a heart.
Thats all from Day 2 at TOM* Fashion week but stay tuned to the blog for my recap on Day 3 at TOM* and to read about the runway show that was the hottest ticket in town.
